Movie Madness 2: A Team

You know? I grew up watching the A Team and I loved every minute of it from what I remember. So, I just had to see this. Plus, an opportunity to support another fighter {Rampage} in a movie role.

First thought: *Hey, at least they didn't hurt the puppies or I was going to be out*

The part where they introduce Murdoch was funny as heck. And it's good to see a BA that isn't afraid to hop into a helicopter.

My last thought on this movie....was, dang I hate Jessica Biel. And,

I don't know, all the strategy for their mission and the start of it and, I don't know, I just couldn't bare to watch anymore. I generally always finish a movie, no matter how bad it is. But this

one, it seemed such an insult to a great oldie that so many of us grew up watching.

So, to the A Team of 2010 -- Sorry, but you didn't make the cut, I

couldn't even watch the whole movie.

Welcome to another round of Back in the day hottie. This week I'm letting music influence me and going with Sebastian Bach...lead singer of Skid Row. I mean, what wasn't to love? Tight leather, gorgeous long hair and a KILLER voice.

Looking back, I can definitely see why I thought he was a hottie. However, the current me says he was way to skinny and could have used more than a few double cheeseburgers.

Thursday TV 3: Legend of the Seeker

this week I've caught up on Legend of the Seeker.

Not only is the the end of the season, but they're also cancelling the show. I'm a little surprised as I thought it had a fairly decent following and the author of the novels was all for more seasons.

I was, at least, happy to see that they ended it in a way that made sense. They didn't leave you hanging as Mercy and Trauma did.

A little sappy though, with them stating that Richard and Kahlan's love can overcome any magical spells. LOL If that were the case, all the other issues for 2 seasons wouldn't have been issues.

I'm going to miss this show, but I'm happy they left us with a real closing...not a what would have happened if....

Gabby awoke with a start and sat up. As quickly as she went up, she groaned and returned to lying down. Placing her hand on the side of her head, she could feel dried blood.

“What the hell?” She murmured as she carefully looked around her. Looking to her left and then over to her right, she noted she was still in the boat. But it seemed she was the only thing in the boat besides her sweater.

She remembered leaving the dock with two of her friends and her boyfriend. They had packed enough supplies to stay on the island for two weeks. It was their mini vacation for finally graduating college.

The supplies were gone and so was everyone else. But where? And why on earth had she been bleeding? Sighing, she figured the more important question was who had made her bleed and did that someone have anything to do with why everyone else was not with her.

She reached into the pocket of her jeans and grabbed her cell phone.

“Fucking perfect. No signal. I thought AT&T said they had the most bars and the largest calling area. I’m changing my plan when I get home.” She tossed it down onto the bottom of the boat.

She gently shook her head from side to side realizing she was talking out loud and there was no one there but her.

Hearing her stomach growl and realizing she was very thirsty, she slowly sat up again, determined not to let the pain take over.

She had to focus.

She needed to think.

She was determined to find her friends.

Her stomach growled. She was hungry. That had to be first. Pulling on her sweater, she climbed out of the boat. She got water from the lake. Now, what would she eat?

A Little Bit of Us Part 7

Well, it's that family post time again. The first order of family news is....January 13th I bought the first Christmas present for this coming holiday season. ☺ Aww, come on. Don't hate me.

Since then I've bought quite a number more. I plan to be done by October this year. :D

In other non-Christmas news....my oldest is soon to be 14 and for her birthday she wants her lip pierced. While I'm not against it, I don't think it's the brightest idea. However, we don't want her to be stupid and do it herself either. So, my master plan? I asked which she wanted more...a cell phone or her lip pierced. Thankfully, she choose the cell phone -- so I have until she turns 15 (hopefully) before I have to deal with the lip piercing again ☺

We're still working on the house and have made some more progress. It's not the way I want it...but it is turning honey which I love....and, even more important...the kids are having a blast with this.

We took our girls to get fixed recently and get them started on their heartworm preventative. I'm starting to wonder what is more expensive...lol my kids or my furry kids. ♥ ♥

Anyway, I'll leave everyone with a few pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to take a day in the coming weeks to post some before and after areas of the house.

In order to help with a few questions, here’s a little more information.

First, we will agreements in hand by no later than Tuesday evening for handling these “un-homed” books.

At no point will NBP ever take more than 40%.

Your options?

Publishers, will we make you end your current contracts? No

Indie Authors, will we make you sign with us as a published author through NBP? No.

Here are the options we are working agreements for:

1) publishers (those who represent other authors and already have valid and current contracts with them)

2) ones that want to contract through No Boundaries Press as one of our authors (meaning the title and rights belong to them and they are legally able to contract with us)

3) and ones for those that wish to remain self-published.

Keep an eye open for more details. And, as always, please email your questions and even suggestions on this to noboundariespress@gmail.com

Movie Madness 1: Bare Knuckles

WOW! Is all I can say about this movie...and believe me...it's NOT a good WOW. This wasn't even a *B* grade movie -- maybe *F* To be honest, I don't even know why I watched the whole movie.

As a female fighter myself, I'm all for supporting the sport and giving women recognition, but this was a complete disgrace. The representation of us was terrible.

First of all, no manager picks us up in a bar where we're a waitress ducking a swinging drunk c

ustomer. It just doesn't happen. Years and years of training go into being a female fighter. The you start out as an amateur, then go Pro...if you're good enough. You simply just aren't tossed in.

This was worse than WWE...even worse than Kimbo Slice and his backyard brawl You Tube videos.

We end up seeing that she's {geez, didn't even catch her name} a single mom having the help of grandma with a severely handicapped daughter. We also catch little glimpses of memories

about some guy and his jacket {go figure}..although, we assume it's her daughter's father, we're really never let in on it. Also, I caught a glimpse of dog tags. So, I assumed perhaps he was killed in war -- again, never confirmed in the movie.

Another element is someone named Danielle that I guess they used to manage and train, I caught that she was a *vegetable* {their words} from a fight. Although that's all foggy too.

Rule #1...if you want stories within stories in a movie...you actually have to do something with

them.

This movie is full of bad acting, bad representation of people who work VERY hard, bad outfits and too much foo-foo {cartwheels in the ring while fighing...please....pfffft}.

Anyway, don't waste that 90 minutes or so of your life...heck, watch paint dry -- it would be better.

Well, we know I covered my absolute favorite back in the day hottie in weeks 1 & 2 (Fabio) -- now.....let's move on. (*whines* do we really have to?)

Who remembers the Dukes of Hazard? And I mean the REAL one...not that stupid movie with Jessica Simpson. *rolls eyes*

Two words: Bo Duke

John Schneider seemed to have all the girls swooning back in the day. So, here's a little reminder of the blond, fluffy haired trouble maker that gave Rosco all sorts of trouble.

Looking back..this is one of the ones I don't *get* -- why did I think he was hot? lol

Thursday TV 2: Miami Medical

So, I've been trying to decide if they are having a season 2 of this medical show. I even went to the executive producer's blog to see if I could find any details.

Here we go, staying or going, my opinion is the same. I totally dislike this show. Compared to the other medical shows this is like a romper room version. The actors aren't that great and it seems that episode story lines don't always come to a satisfying ending or provide proper build up to the following week.

I'll be honest in saying that I've only watched the first 5 episodes, I have a date with #6 tonight. After episode 1, I really didn't want to watch another at all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but first episodes are supposed to pull you in, make you want to see what happens in episode 2 and leave you wondering what will happen the rest of the season. This show made me want to cover my ears and run the other way.

One of the main female actresses, Dr. Eva Zambrano, played by Lana Parrilla, totally gets on my nerves. It's like she's trying to be a cheap repeat of Mariska Hargitay {you know from Law and Order SVU?}. I'm not sure why, but that's one of the first things I thought of her, and my thoughts have remained the same through 5 episodes.

Now I will say that Jeremy Northam's {Dr Proctor} accent is nice and Mike Vogel {Dr Deleo} isn't bad too look at. It's just not enough to make me actually like the show.

What's worse? They're cutting good medical shows like Trauma and Mercy. This should go long before either of those did.

I know, like with all television shows and movies, that some are bound to love this show. I'm just one person and this is simply my opinion on it. It needs A LOT more spice.

Oh, and aren't you proud of me? I didn't make any Dr Proctor jokes. ☻

Chapter Three

“Come on Sadie, we’ve been dating for eleven months now. I’ve been patient. Stay over tonight and let’s take the next step in our relationship,” Neil gave a serious look over his glass of tea as he sat across the table from her.

I played with my pasta. We were at my favorite Italian restaurant for our Saturday date. This had been the plan due to our busy schedules for months now. He was in law school and I was in med school. Well, mostly. That was my end degree. I was going to be a doctor.

Neil stared at me as I stared at my food.

In eleven months he had been more than patient. As far as we’d gotten was hugging, kissing and a little necking (as my mom called it). There was no pressing of our bodies together, no sneaking feels. How long would he wait? How long should she make him?

“I can’t think of a better way to ring in your birthday. You’re twenty-one today, I bought you your first alcoholic beverage and this could also be our first time. I know your first time wasn’t what you expected. You were teenagers. This time will be different, I promise.” Neil ordered another tea while he waited for her to break her silence.

If only he knew I was contemplating if I could sacrifice my heart to him. Would he trample on it as Matt had? Would he leave me when it was time for a change of pace? Neil was in his last year of law school. Would the jump to his father’s law firm as a lawyer count as that change when you let go of the old things in your life for new and better ones?

Since I’d only slept with one other person, I wasn’t sure if it was possible to do so and not give them a piece of your heart. Could I sleep with him and not fall in love with him? I’d kept my distance. I do like him, I’m in like with him. Not in love with him.

Could I risk a repeat of Matt?

Taking a deep breath, mostly to gather my courage, I knew it was time to put up or shut up.

“Neil, I’m sorry. Of course, you’re right. It’s time for us to move past where we are. Let me run by home and grab a few things after we’re finished here and I’ll stay over.”

Once she blurted it out, sounding calmer than she felt, she realized Neil looked relieved. Was he going to break up with had her answer been different?

The car ride was tense. Neither one of us spoke much. And if I thought that was bad, you could slice the tension with a knife once we were inside his condo.

Neil didn’t have the bachelor pad that most would expect. One of his parent’s long time housekeepers had decorated it for him. So it was simple, yet very elegant and always spotless. Honestly, I don’t think he ever used the kitchen.

“Sadie,” Neil broke her out of her thoughts. “Would you like a drink?”

“No, I’m fine.” Smiling, I had to add, “Are you trying to get me drunk?”

Neil laughed that collected and confident laugh that I had grown used to over the past months. Suddenly, this felt more than right. What had I really been waiting for anyway? He was a great catch, we enjoyed a lot of the same things, he understood my schedule and I understood his. We are compatible. And we are both going to be very successful.

We watched a movie on the couch wrapped up in a blanket together. This is the kind of evening I could get used to. Maybe it was finally happening for me.

As Neil stood up, he grabbed my hand and pulled me up, leading the way to the bedroom.

“Do you need a moment to change?” He asked.

“No, it’s all right.” I was trying to sound a lot more confident than I was. I had only slept with one person and we were high school kids at the time. It had been almost two and a half years.

He walked me over to the side of the bed, pulled off his shirt and pulled me against him. It was the closest we’d ever been during any of our time together. Still I waited to see if he’d try to nudge his “man parts” against me.

“Do you want me to undress you Sadie?”

I wasn’t sure if I was relieved that he was leaving the details up to me or if I wished that he would just control it all. I nodded my head.

Neil undressed me as though I were a piece of fine china. I know, it’s an awful reference and I almost laughed at myself.

As he removed my clothes, he placed gentle kisses and casual licks along my body. Before long, I was standing naked in front of him. Even though there was only the small amount of light coming from a lap on the nightstand on the opposite side of the bed, I felt as though I had an industrial high beam light pointed right at me.

“Are you alright Sadie? Do you want to stop?” Neil sighed as he spoke.

“I’m fine, Neil.” I was supposed that I found my voice and I could almost swear I heard him breathe a sigh of relief in knowing I was willing to continue.

He got ready to speak and I shook my head no. I just knew he was going to ask if I wanted to undress him and I couldn’t do it.

“Yes, you can, Sadie. “Neil gave me a confident smile as he spoke.

Damn could he read my mind?

Slowly he took my hands and put them on his chest, running them all the way down his toned abs and to the top of his pants.

“You know what to do.” He said as he dropped his hands to his sides.

Happy Forced Affection Day

What? Someone who's happy and in happy relationships doesn't like Valentine's Day?
Yes. I'm the weirdo.
I've HATED Valentine's Day since Jr High. Now, no...I wasn't the nerdy kid with 8 inch thick glasses. I played sports, I was the captain of the cheer squad. I always had a boyfriend and one or two waiting in line.

What I've always hated was the idea of being expected to do nice things. The idea of being expected to give someone a gift.

Yes, we do it for Christmas and we gorge ourselves with food at Easter and Thanksgiving. We get drunk on St. Patrick's Day (I can say that ---I'm Irish).

But this concept of valentine's Days that make some question why they are alone or not married...or question why they're still with who they're with -- or compare this thoughtful dead to another (pukes) -- please.

Just stop!

I don't want a day where someone HAS to be nice to me...or HAS to send me flowers (that are going to die and be in the trash in a week)...or HAS to buy me something sparkly, that with my schedule and work out routine will be lucky to be worn 3 times a year.

I fell it's "Forcing Affection" -- thus my name for it. ;)

Ok, so you REALLY want to get me a Forced Affection Day gift? Fine. Make a donation in my name to the ASPCA...make a donation in my name for the war vets...make a donation in my name for pitbull adocacy...rescue a dog and give him or her a LOVING forever home in my "honor"...make a donation to a local NO KILL shelter.

Don't waste money on items that fade over time. If you insist on valentine's day -- for me anyway, I'd rather see the money WELL spent.

Love me every day of the year...be nice to me every day of the year -- not just in February 14th.

There are some days when the love of your life makes you roll your eyes. Yes, you know those days. When she stamps her foot with impatience, or when he talks too much. Those are the days when your sweetheart needs a spanking. Domestic Discipline comes to the rescue, bringing bare, red fannies to the fore.

Here are some fine reasons, just in case you have trouble identifying them when they happen.

10. Gluttony. Have you ever gone for the bag of chips and found one, lonely fraggy left in the bag? You know there was half a bag when you left it, and you know your sweetheart had the bag last. What happened to sharing everything—sorrows, joys, and, of course, chips? Spankin' time.

9. Boasting. There is a fine line between talking a mile a minute about some accomplishment, taking pride in a job well done, and talking non-stop about how terrific you are. Yada, yada, I'm so fantastic! yada, yada. Looks like we're getting out that ping-pong paddle for a quick trip across Sweetie's backside.

8. Cheating. Now, of course, if your honey has a roving eye, something a else is in order, but if he or she cheats at Monopoly, that's a spanking offence, pure and simple. Go directly to leather strap, do not pass Go, do not collect 200 dollars.

7. Envy. "But, honey, Mavis has high-button shoes, why can't I?" Nix that nasty habit right in the bud. Try using the leather sole of a soft house slipper. That'll make the point!

6. Foul language. Does your sweetie talk like a sailor with a bad attitude? Does every other word start with F? I have encountered a few heroines like that – well, actually, I wrote 'em that way. Try another handy bathroom implement: a wooden bath brush along the rear (not the loofah side!).

5. Lying. This one really makes a person steamed. When you can't trust your sweetie to tell you the truth, who can you trust? Pretty soon, not only will they be lying about who broke that china plate, but they'll be telling you there's no Santa Claus! Sheesh. Lying deserves a "conversation" with a leather belt (be sure to wrap those metal parts deep in your fist, folks). Poor Gabriella Appleby got a spanking (or two!) for telling tall tales in Ace-High Flush [link: Spanking Romance http://www.spankingromance.com]. Make sure your sweetheart reads this and takes notes.

4. Lack of confidence. Do you love your honey? Does your honey believe him/herself love-worthy? If he doesn't, that's a spanking offence. After all, if he respects your judgment, then he'll believe that you wouldn't pick a dope for a sweetheart. When Jenny dyes her hair, believing that she's not sexy enough for Buck, even though Buck has made it clear he likes her the way she is, it starts a spanking spree. Those people know what they're doing and they know the risks they take daily, for which we are all grateful. However, if your sweetie is like the rest of us, endangering her life heedlessly isn't okay. 2. Disrespect. Loving someone implies that you respect them. R-E-S-P-E-C-T (in my best Aretha Franklin voice). In high school I thought I was in love with Mr. Football. All right, well, his name was Matt and he was the captain of the football team and had been the star varsity quarterback since his freshman year. That alone was a very rare occurrence. He’d had girls lined up to date him since football tryouts at the start of high school.

Junior year it was finally my turn. We dated until he left for college on the awesome football scholarship the entire school knew he’d get. Colleges across the country had fought over him his entire senior year.

Matt decided that he had to focus on football, studies, and the girls that would be on campus. That, of course, left no room for his high school girlfriend. It was a shock that my parents thought I should have seen coming. Was I that blind?

He was my first kiss and my first sexual experience. Matt was the first boy I’d seen naked and he was the first to have seen me.

As I look back, our first time was laughable. Well, really, all of our times were.

My first time was after the Homecoming football game. We made an appearance at the dance long enough to be crowned the King and Queen of the Court. Shortly after the Court member dance, we left.

It seems so cliché now, but we hid out under the bleachers on plaid blanket that he had in the trunk of his car. It was all so awkward. He fumbled with my dress, I fumbled with my dress. I fumbled with his clothes, he fumbled with his clothes.

While it wasn’t his first time, in my mind, the experience I always thought would be better. He ripped the condom when he went to put it on (and I now know it totally wasn’t because he was large) and had to get another one. Instead of building my nerves or anticipation, it frustrated me. Come on. He was experienced.

I remember wondering if it would hurt. They always say it does, at least for a minute.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” Matt asked, letting me know that I still could change my mind. But, if I did, at what cost would it be? Would I be teased? Would I be cursed to never date again as the resident tease of the high school?

“I’m sure, Matty,” I was the only one who had ever gotten to call him that.

As he reached down to grab himself to enter me, I held my breath. Slowly he inserted himself into me. I continued to hold my breath and wait for the pain, determined not to be a big baby about it.

Before I knew it he was moving in and out asking me if I was OK. Really? That was it? I was worried about it? It didn’t hurt in the least. And trust me; nothing had penetrated me there before. I don’t even use tampons.

“Yes, I’m fine. It’s not too bad,” I hoped he couldn’t hear the disappointment in my voice. Sure, I could have voiced what I was really thinking, but why deflate that huge ego he’d gained over three or four years?

Besides, I still wanted only him. He was the first thing I thought of in the morning as I was dressing. Would he like my outfit? He was the last thing I thought of before bed. Is he thinking of me too? I can’t wait to see him tomorrow.

Matt continued to pump in and out of me, breathing heavy in my ear and slobbering down my neck.

Yes, that was my first time. I still have to laugh. Although, I do still miss Matt. We talked for a while our first few years of college then called each other less and less until not at all. I still wonder what he’s doing now and if he’s happy. Was he able to find his soul mate?

Needless to say, in my mind I truly loved Matt, so I drove my parents insane with my heartbreak for months. I pretty much stayed in my room when I was home for the first six months after our break up. Then for another six months, I avoided all guys like they had some contagious terminal illness. Then it took me almost another eight to agree to date anyone.

Matt took up almost two years of my life after we broke up. I swore it would never happen to me again. I controlled me. No one would gain the upper hand.

Then, along came Neil.

I am thrilled that the genre is growing and more and more writers of romance are becoming far more graphic in writing their love scenes. So many readers have told me that they read the cover blurb and then search through the pages for adult language! I have to laugh, that has always been something I‘ve done. Lord I’m not alone.

I wouldn’t tell my lover to put his hard member in me. Oh, hell, just fuck me already. And when I’m going to suck his cock, I’m not going to “put his stiff rod of pleasure in my mouth”. Did you notice in some romance novels you never know if the hero and heroine have an orgasm, the scene always changes? I’m not saying that these milder sex scenes don’t work; they just don’t work for me.

One good friend and partner in crime has an eBook reader and downloads seven or eight erotic short stories and novellas a week. And the number of readers who do is growing in leaps and bounds. The f/f erotic romance genre is growing and we know that the m/m erotic romance genre is huge. And the erotic paranormal romance genre is growing strong; it’s a genre that leaves open infinite possibilities for a writer.

I have always been a reader, my favorite authors, Stephen King, James Patterson, Beatrice Small, Rosemary Rogers, Robin Cook, Dan Brown and that’s just a few. I’ve read The Bridges of Madison County, Forever Amber, Gone with the Wind, A Christmas Carol, Les Mis, The Pearl, For whom the Bell Tolls, and the Rise and fall of the Third Reich. That my friends is just a drop in the bucket. Writers are true readers it’s a passion and necessity.

So there you have it, I write because I must, I write erotic romance because it titillates me and that’s what I want to do to my readers. But I love a good villain, an interesting plot and hot, hot sex. So shoot me, but first try reading one of stories, and enjoy.

Chapter One

He rolled her onto her back and got on top of her.

"It's time." He said.

She turned her head away from him but didn't push him away.

Gently grabbing her face, he turned her to look at him. "I want to make love to you."

At what age do we realize that there is no Prince Charming? That our knight in shining armor isn't going to save us, pull us onto his horse and ride us off into the sunset? Life isn't like television, books or movies.

For me, I always knew fairy tales were just that. Stories told to children by parents hoping for dreamy sleeps without nightmares. However, the no Prince Charming and no knight in shining armor just really hit me.

I've always wanted to believe that there's that perfect someone out there for all of us. That person that we are literally addicted to, the one we can never get enough of, the one that's better than the best drug imaginable. The one that you dream of an eternity with and even that isn’t long enough.

Don’t get me wrong, I'm not talking the obsessive and controlling thing, where they can't breathe or walk away without you having a tab on them or them having one on you. No one needs a stalker. Just the addiction--high on love--I'd do anything for you feeling.

I know you’ve seen it. We’ve all been somewhere and seen the elderly couple still holding hands after sixty years of marriage. Loving looks exchanged as he helps her to walk with the assistance of a shopping cart or cane. They have photo album upon photo album sitting at home that details their life together. Their children, their grandchildren and their great-grandchildren. When they tell you about their love, the main point is it grows steadily. Rather than less love for each other or boredom as the years pass—there’s more love and more commitment.

Sometimes we get lucky enough, or perhaps it’s unlucky (nothing like having what you’ll never find thrown in your face), to see a younger couple with a soul mate bond. Even though their love hasn’t survived half a century or even decades, you can see it. It’s in the way they look at one another, the constant little ways they touch, it can even be seen in their smile.

Yes, that is jealousy. Pure and simple jealousy from me.

Call it one heartbreak too many.

Call it one cheater too many.

Call it hearing “It’s not you, it’s me,” one too many times.

I’m not old, but I find myself increasingly tired of always being the bridesmaid instead of the bride. Of my friends that are married, they all see happy and in love. No, it’s not a perfect fairytale. They do disagree, they do argue—but they make up and the days together turn into weeks, those turn into months and finally into years.

It would be so nice to have a routine that included someone other than me and pets. Well, there is work. Some would say my job focuses around excitement. It’s true it’s never the same day to day or even hour to hour. What do I call my job? Stress. Pure and straight stress. Once in a while you feel accomplished, most of the time you feel more helpless than anything. If it weren’t for all the student loans that I’m paying off, I might be tempted to be the lobby cleaner at Burger King. However, the job is a story for later though.

Interview: S.L. Danielson

What inspired you to write your first book? Honestly, I’d been writing since I was a young girl, and had started my first stories at 12, so transitioning didn’t take much. It was only a few years ago it made it into book format, however.

Do you have a specific writing style? I used to outline everything, but now I do a general outline and fill in the rest as it comes. I write when the mood strikes me, I set no schedule or deadlines.

How did you come up with the title? Most of my titles I either bounce off other people for ideas or feedback. Finding the right title is one of the most difficult aspects of writing.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp? That people are flawed. All of us are… no one is perfect. I want people to know that flawed, imperfect men can find love just as they are.

How much of the book is realistic? I’d say a good deal of it. I’ve received several complements on how true-to-life my men/boys are.

What book are you reading now? Unfortunately, a textbook.

Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest? Currently, my friend Julie, and William caught my eye.

What are your current projects? Right now I’m finishing a sequel to Ranch Hands, as well as a murder mystery (m/f) under a new name.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book? I’ve already changed what I wanted in the 3^rd edition. LOL

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated? I don’t know the exact moment, but I was very young. I loved to read and it just flowed from there.

Can you share a little of your current work with us? Sure. This is from RH2.

Two hours later, the trio entered the diner, or at least attempted to. The place was standing room only, with several farmers outside, their voices so loud they could be heard from behind the building. As they approached, one of the farmers, Tim Crockett, caught Sid’s attention.

“Hey, Sid! Roger.” He paused. “Jerry. I’m sure you boys have heard the news by now, that they wanna break up our farms?”

The crowd of angry men all wearing hats punctuated every word he spoke with their own version of a rally cry, which boiled down to a loud growl.

“Hold on, Tim. We don’t know anything for sure yet. It could be us or Ulna.” Roger interjected. Always the peacemaker he was.

“Hmpf. Well it damn well not better be us, Laramie. Let’s put it that way.”

That attitude caught even Sid’s attention. “What’re you going to do? Burn down our fields? Kill our livestock? I just got mine put back together and we’re doing just fine. I don’t want to lose it again!”

“Well maybe we can fire back with some of our own ammunition if you get my drift, Rosen.” This earned him a round of slick smiles and a few that spit off to the side for their own approval of the statement.

Sid looked back at his companions and then back at the angry mob. “Well until we have all the facts, I ain’t jumping the gun and doing anything to threaten our ranch. It’s staying put and operational until someone comes up with a true story to tell me.”

They attempted to stride forward, but Tim stood up and looked at Jerry. “What about you, Evans? You ain’t said a damn word. What the hell can this even mean to you?”

Jerry didn’t flinch at all as the burly man approached him and towered over his short frame. “I’ll have you know it means a lot to me. I work at their ranch. My own farm didn’t work out, but theirs is. I say we don’t do anything stupid until we know what the hell they’re even going to do, or rather whom they’re going to do it to.”

Roger clapped his friend’s shoulder. “Good job, Jerry. I think you caught their tongues.” He whispered into his ear.

Sid ushered his companions in front of him. “Come on boys, let’s go find somewhere a little less hostile to eat.”

“You ain’t gonna find anywhere less hostile in this town right now, Rosen! Who the hell are you to talk all calmly anyway? You used to be a spitfire! Roger take away all your damn gusto?”

“Probably sucked it away in the night.” A farmer named Ray Gibson uttered in his twangiest of tones. It drew a general gag reflex from half the crowd.

“You jerk!” Jerry yelled out, he went to punch the man, but Roger pulled him back. “What the hell are you doing? You heard what they said!”

Sid nodded. “I heard him and I find that attitude disgustin’, but there ain’t a damn thing I can do about it.” He walked over to Ray and got less than a foot away from his face. Ray retreated. “Unless you closeted and really want that experience for yourself, Gibson.” He licked his lips and moved in closer until Ray pushed him away.

“Get the fuck away from me, boy! All of ya!” He ran off, drawing only attention and laughter to himself.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing? The overwhelming urge to tweak it.

What was the hardest part of writing your book? See above.

Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers? Just that love is love and all my men are flawed, but find love.

What were the challenges (research, literary, psychological, and logistical) in bringing it to life? Of the nine books I’ve done so far, and the six in the works… I’d say the most straining has been psychological. I get drawn into their lives, their troubles.

What genre do you consider your book(s)? Gay romantic fiction.

Do you ever experience writer's block? Oh yes. One time it lasted two years. Awful thing!

Do you write an outline before every book you write? Most of the time, yes.

Have you ever hated something you wrote? Yes.

What is your favorite theme/genre to write about? Young adult/teenagers.

How are you different/the same as your main character? Of all my leading men, I can be assertive as they are, but not quite the emotional wreck a couple of them are.

How did you decide on names for your main character(s)? Sometimes from real people, or just names I like for future pets.
